PRIYA'S ARENA

My Space For Thoughts.....

All this happened in a burst and suddenly it was planned that I am coming back to home. There was not the same enthusiasm and excitement to come back home as it was in the first year. But you cannot say it was totally absent. Well there were some plans about how to spend this holidays if I were at Rourkela but getting to home has a different feeling even though it has just been a month of me leaving home after the vacations. And add to that the cramped time table life has been a torture in the weekdays. The same old schedule of writing records and doing assignments till late night. But the extended weekend (Fridays also add to the weekend as there are no much classes on that day and that’s the reason behind such a horrible time table on other days) break gives sighs of relief.

With the swine flu making its inception to the institute and to be more particular my hostel, life has become a little more pathetic and full of fear. Well the hype that it has created is more than its potential to harm.

Meanwhile I would like to enjoy the short break to the fullest. Not to try anything fancy but to enjoy my moment of zen and peace. Just take a nice break from the hectic schedule.

The past year has been really arduous for me. But along with me i am taking a pleura of experience. Things have gone terribly wrong with me starting frrom meniscus tear in my knee to what i call the 2GB fiasco( :( ). But the lessons have been learnt. I will try to be new me in my second year. It would be totally different from what has been in the first year. I have to try to cope up in this new environment as soon as possible. Approach on some things has to be changed. Too much of benevolence has cost me hard. So change is needed for the better.

And another thing is the new look of mine. Ya, I too am going to be bespectacled( :o although it is going to be temporary). I hope that i would look nice in my new avatar :).

The end sem exam ends. The fortnight has been extremely tedious. Just studying and sleeping and to add to that the 2GB fiasco. And now off I am to Berhampur with lot of fantasies in my mind. That I will have a lot of enjoyment and fun. Had planned that I wud be visiting friends' homes and will be regularly going to the playground to have bouts of cricket. But that was not to be. The hot summer and my laziness never let it happen. The first few days were ok. Some change after those gruesome exam times was good, had a great visit to the Gopalpur beach. But soon I got bored. I missed my hostel times very much. Those jolly times, the horseplays, the prattles I m missing them all. And to add that this hot summer and the powercuts here. Summer has become soporific and monotonous.

To find solace and keep myself engaged I decided to go to a computer class. So, I joined one. Then came the jolt. I got chicken pox (oooops!!) and I was delimitated for two weeks or so. What I had forgotten in the due course was that I had to give the BITSAT exam. Before coming to home I had determined that I would be studying hard and be clearing it alike the way I did last year. First thing was that I had not prepared well and the second thing, this chicken pox which amplified when I was on my way to the BBSR and resulted in severe cough and fever while I was attending the exam played spoilsport. So, the wish to go to Pilani was forgotten.

These Hols are so boring. Sometimes I watch a movie or two or play some games but the type of enjoyment that was there in NIT is not here. Now I am just counting days and wish to be in Rourkela as soon as possible. Now, into the sophomore and yes, we are going to be seniors!! Will be great fun!
